What is Telehealth?
Telehealth, also known as online therapy, is a growing field. A therapist provides therapy sessions and support over the internet through video conferencing. Online therapy is no different than an in-person session aside from the location of services.
What are the Benefits?
Online therapy offers more flexibility to accommodate complex daily schedules that a lot of people are trying to juggle. You can have a session in the comfort of your own home, on your lunch break at work, in your car during your child’s sports practice, or anywhere where you may be able to fit in 1 hour for yourself. It is also useful to individuals who cannot leave their home for various reasons, who work unconventional hours, who live in rural or remote areas, or have limited access to transportation.
How do I “attend” an Online Session?
I use SimplePractice for my practice platform. Once you schedule an appointment with me, you will be granted access to the SimplePractice online client portal which automatically gives you access to telehealth video services.
